Thirty years later, “Cool Britannia is back!”

Far from mere nostalgia for the glorious British 'nineties', it would be really cool to be British in 2025. Union artists are in the spotlight, and the British press is embracing this trend: a 'cool' patriotism.
Young New Yorkers walk around in hooded down jackets, eating Frazzles chips and listen to Central Cee and Skepta . American expats are making series about their new life in the middle of London. And above all, Oasis is going on tour again . Is the United Kingdom (once again) on the rise?
It would no longer be just a matter of living in nostalgia for the period of optimism and cultural influence that was the nineties. No, this time, it's the “Cool Britannia 2025.” At least, the British believe it.
Starting with fashion magazine Tatler, which headlined its August cover: “ Cool Britannia is back!” Against a perfectly kitsch British flag backdrop, it featured Molly Moorish-Gallagher and Sonny Ashcroft, the daughter of Liam Gallagher and the son of Richard Ashcroft (of The Verve) respectively.
This "rebirth" may, however, be a bit different, as suggested by the lifestyle of these children of stars, "made up of wellness retreats and gardening" - a far cry from "the ecstasy pills and rave parties in underground tunnels" of their parents, notes the magazine.
